A very good kitesurfing school where the skills of kitesurfing are taught in a fun, friendly, yet professional manner. I found it a great experience to learn kitesurfing, and because of the way lessons are given at awa salu, everything was very clear and ultimately quite manageable. Additionally, this surf school contributed to the enjoyable experience of kitesurfing! In the future, I will definitely come back here.
I did the 7-day kite surf course with Awa Salu and it was absolutely amazing! Kim, my instructor, was just the best – super funny, incredibly kind, and so motivating. Kim is the best,in 6 lessons she did manage to let me kite.she is very patience with the students. If she can let me kite in six lessons anyone else can do it in 4 ..
Really had a great kite lesson from Kim! I could already sail back and forth, but she gave me a lot of little tips that made my transitions (turns with turns) successful + my first jump(little).I have taken lessons before, but Kim stands head and shoulders above the rest!!

Perfect kite spot for learning. You can walk far into the water and there are minimal waves, which makes learning easier. Learned a lot in five days, really super happy. And yes, kite lessons from Kim, that is indescribable, you have to experience it.
We had a great experience at Awa Salu Kiteboarding! Kim was easy to communicate with and flexible with our travel plans. I had a 3-day lesson with Richard and guest instructor, Sophie. Both were great teachers and made for a wonderful first experience with the sport!
Kim is an amazing teacher, being very clear immediately on the safety measures, how a kite works and what could happen which made us as a couple feel great from the start!Next to that she adds in a lot humor and patience making it an amazing experience and will recommend her for any beginner!

Safety is her top priority and she has good kite materials. Kim is clear in her explanation and knows what she is doing. She quickly understands what you need to improve and can help you make enormous progress with a few simple tips. In addition, fun is guaranteed with Kim on the water. I would recommend her to everyone!

Definitely recommended for kitesurfing in Curacao! Kim has arranged everything well, gives good tips and, above all, ensures a safe and enjoyable lesson. The location is also excellent for learning it. We will definitely come back!
Kim is the best, full stop. Aside from being a fantastic teacher, she was incredibly helpful, flexible and communicative about everything leading up to our classes, and her excitement about me making very minor improvements day-by-day was really infectious and made the entire experience that much more fun. She knew exactly how to use the fact that I had surfing/wakeboard/practice kite experience, which was really nice, and she was so patient with me forgetting everything constantly. She helped set up a car and pickup/dropoffs for me, and everything was well worth the price. I cannot recommend her enough and hope to take more classes with her soon! Just a note that she prefers cash and most ATMs charge flat rate $10USD per transaction so set aside your USD beforehand. Stop by Kuminda Surinam on the way back to Willemstad.

Fantastic Kite Surfing Experience!I recently had the pleasure of taking kite surfing lessons with Kim and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Instructor’s expertise and passion for kite surfing were evident, making the learning process both enjoyable and effective.
Kim is amazing instructor and experienced/passionate kiter, always willing to share her knowledge for you to improve quickly.We shared time on a combinationof insightful dry land routines and water time. Every minute worth it.Equipment provided was in perfect conditions and the best of all, a beautiful spot with all you need to improve and enjoy regardless of your level.Awa Salu is definitely the kite school to go in Curaçao!
Kimberly was FANTASTIC and fun to learn with! I recommend this course to anyone thinking about learn to kite board. It was my first time and she actually got me up on the board on the first lesson. (Spoiler alert: I didn’t stay up that long). The lesson(s) lasted about as long as I could last and she tailored everything to me and how I was progressing. Her enthusiasm was infectious and we laughed a lot during the time we had. I will seek her out exclusively when I come to Curaçao again.

Aside from being a fantastic teacher, she was incredibly helpful, flexible and communicative about everything leading up to our classes, and her excitement about me making very minor improvements day-by-day was really infectious and made the entire experience that much more fun. She knew exactly how to use the fact that I had surfing/wakeboard/practice kite experience, which was really nice, and she was so patient with me forgetting everything constantly. She helped set up a car and pickup/dropoffs for me, and everything was well worth the price. I cannot recommend her enough and hope to take more classes with her soon! Just a note that she prefers cash and most ATMs charge flat rate $10USD per transaction so set aside your USD beforehand. Stop by Kuminda Surinam on the way back to Willemstad.
