Awa Salu Kiteboarding is the number one kitesurf school of Curaçao located at the beautiful St. Joris Bay.
The St. Joris Bay is an amazing kitespot with both a shallow plateau and deep waters and all around shore acces.
Kitesurfing is very safe to do when done properly and this is where we come in.
To safely Kitesurf you need lessons, so here we are!
Awa Salu Kiteboarding Curacao is owned by Kimberley Matroos, born and raised in Curaçao.

Kitesurfing Lessons

It is relatively easy to learn and if you are 80 or 8 years old, you can learn how to kitesurf. We observe that 5-7 lessons are needed to learn how to kitesurf independently.
Kids 8-11 years get “Kids Kiteboarding Lessons” with adjusted material.

We offer an array of kitelessons and -courses starting from full beginner courses to more advanced coaching including instructor ride alongs. If you are serious about learning how to kitesurf we strongly advice you to book the 5 Day Kitesurf Course.

KITESurf GEAR / EQUIPMENT

You are going to use the latest gear for your lessons or rental and you will be in constant contact with your instructor or coach through our BBtalking radios. We provide everything you will need including facesunscreen, sunglasses , a protective UV-shirt and water to drink and rinse.

✓ Pick Up and Drop Off Service

We are offering a Pick Up and Drop Off Service when you are staying on Bandariba (East Side of the Island) so it’s not even necessary to arrange your own transport.

✓ Gear Rental

After your course, if you can ride independently. You can rent our gear. Riders that have not had a course with Awa Salu can rent when you can land jumps.

First timer!! Must try!
I had a lovely time with Kimberly today for my first kite boarding lesson. She was very patient with me and very reassuring. She is incredibly knowledgable and has a passion for what she does. Laugh and splash with Kim
Kim is an amazing kite board instructor with great knowledge, vibe, personality, attention to details and smart analogies to make learning a fun and easy experience. She broke down the steps so it’s more digestible and was flexible adjusting teaching method and pace based on my learning outcome. Kimberley was amazing!!
De kitesurf les van Kimberley was perfect! We hadden al 1,5 jaar niet gekite maar ze wist ons meteen weer op een comfortabele manier op het board the krijgen. Les met een head set is ook echt top! Eerste ervaring met de Kite samen met Kim

Best Kite Surfing School in the island
Kim is amazing instructor and experienced/passionate kiter, always willing to share her knowledge for you to improve quickly. We shared time on a combination of insightful dry land routines and water time. Every minute worth it. Equipment provided was in perfect conditions and the best of all, a beautiful spot with all you need to improve and enjoy regardless of your level. Awa Salu is definitely the kite school to go in Curaçao!
